I just received my own bunch of Blackberry Lily from an Ebay auction.... The fans are so small.....I was a little ticked off when they arrived! lol I know they will flower the first year from seed...so atleast I have a head start on the season next year. They came well rooted which is also a plus! I'm looking forward to seeing these beauties bloom....the exotic fl...

I was given a blackberry iris plant that has dark berries, as it should. I would like to know if the berries are poisonous.

Belamcanda chinesis is a okay flower...... not the prettiest flower in the world but different and very easy to grow (without becoming weedy)..... The "problem" with the plant is that the flowers are small and borne rather sparsely on the plant...... that being said however it is worth growing as a novellty or as medication..... And it is easy to grow and the seedpods...

Easy to germinate -- with patience! Unique star-shaped flowers about 2" wide can vary in color from bright yellow-orange to near red, and are always heavily spotted with red. Typical bloom time is late summer, but the season of interest is extended into fall due to the interesting seed pods which develop. Tan, pear-shaped pods burst open to reveal clusters of black s...

I like the flower and wish it would last longer but the foliage is kind of droopy. I tried growing them from seed and didn't have any luck; don't know why! Then I got a division and it just took off!

Beautiful bloomer begining in July up to September that you wish would last longer than one day, attractive iris like foliage, the tubers are susceptible to iris bore and other grubs as I found out the hard way.

Planted seed November 2001. Need a plant for that hot dry spot in the full sun? This is a good choice. Has beautiful orange flowers covered with maroon spots, which turn into black berries in the fall. The foliage is also attractive, somewhat resembling that of an Iris. Sun, Average Soil, Summer, 2-3 ft Tall, Zones 5-10

Belamcanda chinensis--Blackberry Lily
This plant isn't just terribly showy, but it is easy and very attractive. The foliage looks like a floppier version of bearded iris and the flowers resemble small tiger lilies. Black seedheads form after the flowers that look just like blackberries and look nice even in the winter.
