Images and Opinions of Rubus spectabilis from GardenWeb Members| earthnut - WA/usda8/ahs2 |
| A lovely shrub, with magenta flowers appearing before the leaves in the spring and the berries bearing very early in golds and reds. However, I would not recommend this shrub in a small garden, as it is a very aggressive suckering shrub and volunteers too. The stems are thorny. | Ratings| overall | 3 | | how easy | 10 | | flower | 10 | | foliage | 10 | | propagate | 10 | | fragrance | n/a |

| Nora_in_Vancouver - 8b Wet Coast | June 23, 2002 | The berries ripen very early, in May and June. Easy to pick, because they have no thorns. The ripe berries glow like jewels, varying from bright raspberry red, to orange, to golden yellow. | |
| Cactus_joe - 7b | Rubus spectabilis | This grows abundantly in the secondary growth forest near our place. It is native to the Pacific North West. | |
