| A persistant ground cover-like weed. Mulch won't stop it, because it will grow over the mulch. Fortunately, it's fairly easy to pull up, and also more sensitive to vinegar treatment than the average weed, in my experience. It actually looks pretty nice as a ground cover if kept free of other weeds. | Ratings| overall | 5 | | how easy | 10 | | flower | 6 | | foliage | 7 | | propagate | 10 | | fragrance | 1 |

| Nigella - 9a-steamy | hanging basket subject | I am always surprised when I hear of this plant being called a weed! The variegated form is so beautiful and versitile, equally effective as a groundcover and as a hanging basket subject. In good light it becomes tri-colored with strong pink markings. Smells just like oregano, too. | Ratings| overall | 10 | | how easy | 10 | | flower | n/a | | foliage | 10 | | propagate | 10 | | fragrance | 10 |

| The variegated form is a rather attractive and easy to grow container plant. Both the green and variegated forms produce small purplish flowers. | |
| Nora_in_Vancouver - 8b Wet Coast | The more usual common name is "Creeping Charlie"; a very pesky lawn and garden weed. | |
