Images and Opinions of Salvia argentea from GardenWeb Members

mulberry - Zone 5 NY
Salvia argentea
Had Salvia argentia growing in my zone 5 garden, and although it survived a couple of winters here, it struggled to survive. Last year I transplanted it into a pot and put it in my greenhouse,(which I only heat with a couple of heat lamps to keep it just above freezing),and it seems to be doing a lot better now, with new soft, hairy, growth which is quite beautiful.

This plant is one of the best ground covers for our area. It doesn't mind heat, cold or wet ground. It doesn't mind long dry spells although it can look a bit ratty during a drought but, importantly, it doesn't die. The silver leaves are very beautiful and visitors always ask for its name. Many also want a piece to strike.
