I have had alot of comments about this plant. The red color of the foliage and the red flowers are quite an eye catcher and the ones I have this year are over 10 feet tall despite the drought. Some people are sensitive to the leaves of this plant.

The bright red seed pods are a real-eye catcher in the late summer garden. All parts of the plant are poisonous.

So easy to grow and prop it can be hard to get rid of... Clip and get rid of the seed pods before they split and open. Can reach 10' in a season easily. Add seed, cover, water and watch out... Great help in gopher control.

Castor Bean has very showy foliage and interesting spiny, clustered seed pods. Soak the seeds before starting them early in a warm environment.
