I have only had this Port Wine Magnolia for two months so its only a small shrub at present and I was very surprised to see it flowering at the height of 30cms or 12 inches it seems to be a very slow grower..

I am still looking for the name of this cultivar. It doesn't seem to be "Port Wine", someone suggested "Stubb's Purple" but the only source I can find for that one on the net seems to indicate that one also has the color only on the edges of the petals.
