Beautiful when in bloom, but only blooms once at the end of the season. It can be quite slow growing and stingy with seeds. It is quite fragrant at certain times of the day. I have not found it to be "evergreen" here in zone 8.

Woody twining evergreen vine with leathery compound leaves, grows to 12-15'.Dark rose-purple pea-shaped flowers are carried in dense, branched clusters in late spring and summer. Flowers have light camphor-y fragrance. Great for a trellis or arbor, usually less massive than wisteria...
