A great plant, lovely color, not fussy, blooms Mid-June to Frost. The only downside--bees really like it.

The deep red is the macedonica
Flowers spring thru fall (my winter - zone 9 - I get sporadic blooms), no staking. Easy from seed or cuttings. I get arguements that it is scabiosa (same family, flowers look VERY similar). This shot has a lavender bloom of knautia Melton Pastel in the center with Macedonica to the right. The deep color of macedonica is fantastic.

A nice spring green foliage clump to 12 inch by 12 inch with tall wispy branching stalks to 3 ft. bearing fantastic blooms everyday begining in mid July and continuing into September, carefree plant related to scabiosa.
