I agree mikentx: Vigna caracalla IS different from Phaseolus caracalla-I have both. Vigna Caracalla("Corkscrew flower")is a large spiral cream colored bloom with a violet streak. It is fragrant. It can be fussy, and blooms only in the Fall. Seeds are larger than Phaseolus. Phaseolus Caracalla("Snail vine") has smaller blooms and is primarily lavender in color. ...

My experiance: Tends not to follow trellis, constant training / pruning Stick it in the dirt and add water dark green foliage, some what speedy growth flowers are pretty but small
