| My bloodroots came from my neighbor who brought them from Indiana about 30 years ago, and now we have an entire hill covered with them in the spring. Mary from Gainesville, GA | |
| Waplummer - Z5 NY | The Bloodroot is one of the earliest native flowers to bloom, pushing out of the ground in early spring with leaves wrapped snugly around the flower stalk. Given a little sun the bud opens, revealing a charming white daisy-like flower. Massed in a colony they present a dramatic sight. Even more dramatic is a colony of the double bloodroot with small peony-like blossoms. | Ratings| overall | 10 | | how easy | 10 | | flower | 10 | | foliage | 8 | | propagate | 10 | | fragrance | n/a |

| Very pretty spring flower!! Once established it does well. Since it is a woodland flower I place it where it will not be disturbed. | Ratings| overall | 8 | | how easy | 7 | | flower | 9 | | foliage | 8 | | propagate | n/a | | fragrance | n/a |
