Coreopsis verticillata 'Moonbeam'
My neighborhood is overrun by deer so desperate that they devour several plants they purportedly dislike. However, they have never even nibbled this one. That, plus its easy care, airy foliage, and summer-long blooms makes it a favorite! (Note: The deer ignore "ferny" varieties like moonbeam, but I have seen them eat "fleshier" coreopsis types with thicker stems/leaves.)

Very easy to grow and drought tolerant here in NJ. It's foliage is attractive even when the plant is not in bloom.

The "gold standard" of coreopsis. 1992 "Perennial Plant of the Year" means it will grow for just about everyone.

I did not plant this because I heard it is invasive and hard to remove. I just took the photo.

This plant has taken alot of abuse and neglect it was ripped into and I planted both parts and they are just really tough and light and airy and pretty. I can sit in my front and back yards and watch then sway and dip in the breeze.

These plants looked SO straggly when I brought them home from the nursery, but TOOK OFF once they got comfortable.

This is a beautiful flower that blooms all summer in full sun. The foliage is fern-like with delicate soft yellow blooms. A very easy flower to grow.

Its ferny foliage is light and airy.
I love moonbeam coreopsis. It blooms spring to fall, with just occasional shearing back. You can dig up a plant in the spring, divide the root system into several pieces, and each one bushes out into a beautiful, full plant. The lemony yellow is so bright and cheerful and its mounded habit is neat and appealing.
