Very difficult (but not impossible) to grow in marine climate (e.g. Pacific Northwest). Will not thrive in clay - add a mixture of sand and topsoil, perhaps a 3:2 ratio. Slow grower, needs little attention once established. Easy propagation by division.

I bought 40 of these little guys in 2" containers. They live on the north side of the house in an area I dislike mowing. I have a 5' patch of lawn then 2 foot drop to neighbors -- retaining wall makes it hard to mow. I haven't tried propagating them yet, maybe next year, they are still too new. They seem to be staying around 3" tall. Perfect for my intent in this ...
