Remarks:
A large decidious shrub reaching about 5m/16' in good conditions, but often smaller. Close to Parrotia (it's sometimes named Parrotia jacquemontiana), it prefers a somewhat acid soil and is rarer in cultivation. Flowering in april-may with white bracts, very good fall color. It is hardy to zone 7.
